We are so pleased with our choice of wedding venue. Whispering Pines is such a gorgeous place and our guests could tell the staff put a lot of thought and care into our big day. WP was so accommodating to our requests (I am a vegetarian and they prepared my favorite brand of soy chicken!) and overall it was a really stress free experience. Erin was so great to work with and really responsive. The overnight staff were no where to be found when we needed something as the reception was ending but we were able to work things out. We also ran into a minor issues with the chairs for the ceremony. They were set up about 10 minutes before our scheduled start time. We found out it was because they had to rent chairs for the day as their own had become infested with wasps and were being sprayed. That was a minor hiccup in comparison to how smooth the day went!

Everyone was more than happy with our wedding at Whispering Pines. The food was incredible! The pricing was outstanding, especially for New England. The employees were wonderful, very professional and fun to work with. The wedding coordinator and catering manager were 100% flexible with all of our needs and changes to our plans. This venue gave us more than we could have asked for, it is truely a gem in RI. The location is just spectacular! We had an overcast day and it was still breathtaking. The only hiccup was with the cash bar charging for soft drinks although I requested them be complimentary and took a few minutes to straighten out; the salad was served during the cocktail hour while we were taking pictures and people then moved into the dining room; the drinks were cleared off the tables too soon. My husband and I would get up to greet our guests, we would return and our drinks (water, champagne) would be cleared from the table. Otherwise it was flawless. The amount of food and the quality of the food was all our guests could talk about! And breakfast the following morning- amazing!!!

Whispering Pines was amazing. Our October wedding was beautiful and went off without a hitch. The staff were very accommodating to our needs and we met with them multiple times to figure out all the details. The food was amazing. Best part of WP is having the rooms available to guests to stay overnight and the late night campfire. It made it feel like we all had a long weekend together and everyone got to hang out and get to know one another. A word of warning, it may be in your best interest to hire a day of coordinator to set everything up and make arrangements with vendors. Otherwise you will be running around doing this yourself or delegating to family members as WP does not set up or take down for you. They do have an on site coordinator who does her job well but this stuff is not part of her duties. We hired a day of coordinator and got an early check in which worked out great. We were able to drop stuff off the night before and then the coordinator set it up while we were getting ready.

Absolutely wonderful! As soon as we started the drive to WP down the winding pine tree lined road we knew we found our place. The grounds are simply stunning. We received so many compliments at the wedding on what a beautiful place it was and a perfect spot for the wedding.I'm from NY and have a certain standard of food. I was worried since we are not able to try the food prior to the wedding but I can tell all you NYC brides or any brides that hands down the food was excellent! Even better than at weddings that cost double the price of ours! All of our guests raved about how wonderful the food was.The service was great. My guests were raving about how nice and accommodating everyone one was at WP. Erin was amazing the day of the wedding. She was very calming with all the hustle and bustle around. She was able to pull through for me when I forgot about certain things and said not to worry she would take care of it. George and Bill were also great with reassuring us with the quality of their establishment and willing to work with us on various things. I also recommend doing your rehearsal dinner there as well. For the price and the location, we couldn't find a better deal or meal. I took one star away for the bar service. Our best man came to us at the wedding to inform us that the bartender was giving out grey goose even if people did not ask for it. We quickly told Erin and she spoke with him. I'm pretty sure that his gratuity is based on consumption and it would make sense to "drive up" the bill to get a better tip. Of course there is no way to monitor the bar all night. My advise is just make sure you advise them ahead of time to use a lower grade unless asked. Overall, I would have my wedding there a million times over again! Simply stunning, great service, and even wonderful food!

Whispering Pines/Alton Jones is a hidden gem. We looked at over 50 places and as soon as we came to Whispering Pines we knew it was perfect. It is absolutely beautiful, the staff are amazing, the most gracious and caring and positive people you will ever meet. The food is outstanding. Everyone that came had the time of their life and I would 100% recommend Whispering Pines. It was the best day and we could not have pulled it off without everyone's help and support and guidance from the staff at Whispering Pines. We wanted a place where everyone in our wedding party and family could stay and be together and Whispering Pines was beyond perfect in everyway. The bonfire at the end of the night with smores was the perfect end to a wonderful weekend!!!

I can't say enough about how wonderful Whispering Pines was. Erin, Bill, George and the rest of the staff were fantastic. The food was superb! My guests never stopped talking about how beautiful the grounds, and loved being able to relax and enjoy the facilities on Friday and Saturday before the wedding, not to mention the campfire both nights too! Whispering Pines provided us with the whole package and a weekend that we and our guests will never forget!!

I cannot say enough about Whispering Pines. This setting and these people truly made our wedding what it was. The day of the wedding I saw guests in canoes, on the basketball court, hiking, it was awesome. The staff was buzzing around making sure everything was going well. Erin was the best! She was setting things up, calming me down since our officiant was a little late, talking to vendors, etc. We couldn't have done it without her!The food was talked about all night - from the appetizers to the entrees - people were walking up to us asking where we found this amazing place! Everyone was so impressed. And the campfire was the best way to end the night. We got back from our honeymoon and had thank you notes fom some guests. I didn't know that happened. If you can swing the bar tab and the room rates I would tell everyone (who likes rustic) to book this! People will be talking about our wedding for years to come because of Whispering Pines.

Whispering Pines is a serene and beautiful place for an outdoor wedding. The food was to die for and the service during the reception was amazing. I keep hearing about how no one left hungry! I will have memories there for a lifetime and am glad that I was able to have such an amazing wedding at such a magnificant place!

Whispering Pines was the perfect place for us to have our wedding. We wanted some place where people could stay for an entire weekend and spend time together outdoors and indoors, but also a place where everyone would feel pampered, well fed, and comfortable in their rooms. The staff at Whispering Pines was extremely flexible and helpful in answering all of my questions and accommodating all of my guests (kosher, gluten free, etc.). The food was great, the venue was beautiful, and every guest was happy. I agree with the other poster that the alcohol especially was not cheap. But it made it easy to have the venue take care of really everything for us.

Whispering Pines was our venue for everything from the rehearsal dinner through Sunday brunch. They provided all of the food, as well as all lodging.David and I could not have been happier with them. The wedding was unique, amazing, and classy. Our guests couldnÂ’t stop talking about the location, and how much they appreciated our choice of location. Everyone enjoyed canoeing, playing horseshoes, and hiking, and the lodges were beautiful. The food was superb. Bill, the executive chef, worked with my husband to custom-design a menu that featured filet migion and swordfish steaks. I have actually received thank-you cards FROM OUR GUESTS for inviting them to the wedding. If you can swing it, Whispering Pines is worth every penny.Pros: Guests loved it; we loved it. The food, the rooms, the location, the service. The campfire! Everyone in ONE place.Cons: Pricey, especially the bar...but I think that has more to do with our heavy-drinkin families!
