Lisa Rigby is a talented young woman that will do her best to make sure you get the most amazing pictures for your special day or event. She is very responsive to emails and very flexible with scheduling. She takes the most beautiful pictures we have ever seen. She is worth every penny.

"Perfect." For us, there is really no other way to describe our experience working with Lisa! From the beginning she was in tune with our hopes and wishes. Our tiny civil ceremony in Cambridge city hall wouldn't be a problem: she had covered an even smaller event before. We wondered out loud if it might be fun for the wedding party (such as it was) to travel to the reception on the T, in full regalia, and she was enthusiastic. We hoped for a photojournalistic bent, for the benefit of our friends and relatives scattered across the globe who could not attend, and Lisa delivered!Somehow despite our only having Lisa there with no backup photographer, and despite all the walking and traveling, Lisa seemed to catch all of the crucial moments: the biggest laugh, the tenderest moment, even the ironic humor (c.f. traveling on the T). Moreover, we worried whether our rather spare schedule would provide enough photographic material, but Lisa definitely proved us wrong! Plus, her movement was mysterious, almost magical. Sure, we all knew she was somewhere nearby, but afterwards when we saw the pictures we were constantly surprised by where she actually had been. On the wedding day I often kept thinking wistfully "this would make a great picture" only to discover afterwards that Lisa had already transported herself to my side to capture just that moment! This was a sentiment echoed by others in our wedding party: Lisa seemed to catch all the moments they remembered, and more. Even the posed shots were well-directed and less "posed" than usual, if you know what I mean. The finalized photos were just superb, far better than we had hoped for, and we had interviewed many photographers and looked at innumerable portfolios. Like the shoot itself, the whole portfolio just felt lovingly created, as if Lisa had been a member of our own family. I remember receiving the pictures first in the form of an online slideshow and watching the show over and over again, as if I were reliving that happy day. We even loved the music, and we didn't even choose it: on top of everything else, Lisa had managed to find "our" song for us (we didn't have one before)!Lisa was never pushy in regards to prints and albums and the like, which was great since we wanted to handle that ourselves. If we decide to do an album in the future, we won't hesitate to have Lisa design it for us. She did create that online slideshow mentioned above, and as you know she really delivered. And not only that, everyone we showed it to fell in love with it too, saying that they really felt like they had been there and experienced the same emotions. And that's what it's all about!Like everything involved with a wedding, choosing a photographer is one of those nail-biters many couples have to make. Plus even the best photographer can have an off day. Simply put: we could not have been happier with our choice. She was perfect. Thanks Lisa!P.S. Like many people here I've used Yelp for years but have never been motivated enough to write my own reviews. This is my first. Hopefully that gives you some idea of how wonderful Lisa was!

Lisa was fantastic! She was sweet, easy going, and professional. She was also very willing to incorporate some of my grooms wacky ideas. There are so many things to be stressed out about when planning a wedding, but the one thing that I was not worried about at all was our photography. It felt great to not have to worry about that aspect of the wedding. I would highly recommend Lisa to anyone!

Next to the uplighting, Lisa was hands down, the best money we spent. She was at the top of my list for photographers, and thankfully had our date open (as most people know, she's now exploded and is booking into 2011 - go Lisa!). She was a little out of our initial budget (we had one for all of 10 minutes...) but we thought she'd be worth it. We were SO right. Lisa had preview images for us before we even left on our honeymoon. And they blew us away. Stunning us speechless. We fell in love with our wedding all over again. She is incredibly gifted, and I am so grateful that I had her to capture our day. I'm not an easy person - but Lisa handled me exceptionally well. She got me, she got what we wanted. If you call Lisa, and she has your date open, don't hesitate - book her while she's still available!

Lisa's online portfolio and blog speak for themselves. Her photojournalistic approach was exactly what I was looking for...and then some. She is very skilled in being approachable, but unobtrusive, which I find priceless. This is Lisa's first full-time wedding season. I can't imagine how much her work will grow in the years to come.

Lisa Rigby's photography elicits feelings from our wedding that I don't ever want to forget. Never cheesy, she captured the real us. I am camera shy, and I never felt bashful in her presence. My husband liked her straight away and didn't hide in the pictures. Just ask her specifically if you want particular people photographed because she's busy taking great pictures of the moment and may not realize someone of importance is hiding in the back. If I had a million dollars to spend on photography, I'd hire Lisa again, no question.

My husband and I affectionately refer to Lisa as "spider-woman". She did an incredible job of capturing our wedding from every angle imaginable, virtually undetected. We both love Lisa's contemporary, photo-journalistic approach. Upon meeting Lisa, we immediately had great feelings about her and were very confident in our decision to select her to shoot our wedding. She is not only a talented and motivated photographer, but she is warm, personable, and professional. It's immediately obvious that she's passionate about photographing weddings. Lisa thoroughly prepares for a wedding -- scouting out spots for formal photographs or interesting vantage points during a ceremony, as well as becoming familiar with key family members and friends. Lisa struck the perfect balance of blending-in among the guests, but also being assertive when she needed to get those important shots. She worked tirelessly and she didn't miss anything! We received over 450 amazing photos from Lisa and they tell the story of our wedding day beautifully. If we had to plan our wedding all over again (which fortunately we don't), we would hire Lisa again in a heartbeat.

Hiring Lisa was one of the best decisions we made! She is incredibly talented, professional and made everyone feel very comfortable. Her pics show a natural eye for composition, but on top of that, Lisa does wonderful, smart editing. We had the best time being photographed and literally cannot stop looking at our wedding photos. We are really happy and can't recommend Lisa highly enough.

Lisa was amazing, and far more than we'd ever dared hope for. Our wedding date was set at the last minute and we turned to the web for help with photographers and found Lisa's site. The classy, urban feel of her images attracted us immediately and we thought if we could even get a few photos as lovely, we'd be thrilled. We were not disappointed on any count.Lisa got back to us right away. She was flexible and worked easily with us to find the best package for our needs and budget. She was responsive and efficient in arranging the details, and knowledgeable and calm in helping us with our decisions. She gave us options and made us very at ease with the process. We never felt like our short timeline or our budget constraints were an issue. On the day of the wedding Lisa arrived early. She was prepared and thorough, having done her homework. She took all the images we'd asked for and to that she added photos we weren't even aware she was taking until later. Those especially were a delightful surprise when we saw our final portfolio. The portfolio itself vastly exceeded our expectations and was more than we could have hoped for. We don't consider ourselves very photogenic, but there were many pictures that made us look great. Lisa is very talented both in her eye and composition and in her post-production processing. She really captured the feel of the occasion and gave us many many photos that we will want to print and send out. (And she got those pictures back to us incredibly quickly.)I really can't say enough in praise of this fine photographer. We feel incredibly lucky to have happened upon her website. I would (and do) recommend her to anyone and everyone.

We love our photos! We had searched through pages and pages of other photographers online, but were both drawn to Lisa's photos instantly. The highly reasonable price was a bonus. Lisa has a great aesthetic and a wonderful knack of capturing intimate moments. We only needed a couple of hours of photos for a somewhat non-traditional wedding gathering and Lisa was more than accomodating and super easy to work with. Above all, I think the beauty of the photos speak for themselves.

Lisa is FABULOUS FABULOUS FABULOUS!!!! It is obvious that she loves photographing and she takes great care to do it well. Her style is photojournalistic and she does an excellent job of telling a story and capturing the moment of the day. I love love love her creative eye!!! We got dressed in a small traditional hotel room, but she managed to make it look huge and fancy! She took some of the most amazing shots and made me feel gorgeous! :-) Our wedding party was rather large but she handled herself with the utmost professionalism and managed to take pics of everyone while capturing the joy and fun of the day. She's very personable and open to suggestions. Our families wanted more of the traditional "pose-y" shots but my husband and I loved the candid ones better. They were all throwing suggestions to her during the formal pics and she managed to satisfy them all. I remember being concerned that I didn't get a pic of me and my grandma together because she didn't make it to the site where we took our formal pics and she left the reception early, but Lisa managed to get a few shots of my grandma and I hugging right after the ceremony! I was sooooo happy!!! If you want gorgeous shots for your wedding/event at a very affordable price - Lisa is the way to go!!!

Lisa captured our wedding day in a style that was exactly what we envisioned and more. During our planning stages, I posted an ad on Craigslist looking for a "non-wedding" photographer for our wedding. We received more than 300 responses to our ad, and mostly we were blown away by both the astronomical prices and the poor quality of many of the "applicants". We wanted someone affordable, but moreover we were looking for an artist rather than someone trained only to take staged portraits. Our style is much more candid, and Lisa seemed exactly the one. We couldn't have found a more perfect match. Lisa was easy to communicate with, and she asked great questions. Though she had never photographed a wedding before ours, she seemed to know exactly what she was doing as well as precisely what we wanted. Other than seeing her in the bridal suite (and seeing her jump right in and answer the door and field questions from OTHER vendors when all of the attendants were otherwise occupied), neither of us recall seeing or noticing Lisa at all during either the ceremony or the reception. She was completely unobtrusive and blended right into the background, all the while capturing key moments with breathtaking beauty and an artist's eye. She emailed us her "favorites" while we were on our honeymoon, and less than one week after the event we had a cd of all of the images waiting in our mailbox. Our friends and family have commented on both the photos and on Lisa's professionalism and easygoing nature. A few people have even told us we have the most beautiful wedding photos they have ever seen! We would highly recommend Lisa to any couples looking for an artistic photographer for their wedding day.Lani and Shawn Verges-Radack

I was looking for someone to take my engagement photos and I emailed 4-5 photographers. At the end I picked Lisa because she was very responsive, very reasonable price and I also get to keep all my pictures files! She is a very devoted photographer who really love what she is doing. I really appreciate her passion in photography. Whenever I have questions or need suggestions, she would reply very quickly. We did a 4-hour session for a very reasonable price. We got a lot of great pictures, enough to filled our wedding album which is 100+ pages (and more than 1 picture per page!). Overall we are just extremely happy with our session and the pictures that came out.

When my fiance (now husband) and I were planning our wedding this past year, we hadn't even wanted to hire a professional photographer. That is, until I stumbled across Lisa's website. I fell in love with her journalistic/artsy style immediately and was SO excited when I found out she was available for our wedding date in October. She responded to my inquiry within 2 hours! On a Friday night! Lisa took both our engagement and wedding photos. We hadn't considered engagement photos initially, but we thought it would be a great way to become comfortable around Lisa. It turned out my fiance and I hit it off with Lisa right away. Not only is she down to earth and easy to work with, but she was also very creative with how she wanted to shoot us. As others have stated, when shooting a wedding & reception, Lisa is stealthy. I hardly noticed her throughout our event. She took the types of photos we had discussed - and captured everything we wanted (except for one shot, which was due to my husband and I wanting to join the party & be done with the posed photos. Thankfully Lisa took it upon herself to at least capture the room without us in it!) Lisa brought two cameras with her to our wedding - one being a back-up. She arrived early and gave us a heads up when she was leaving. Because our band was just starting as she was heading out, she agreed to stay a few minutes longer to capture a few more dance-floor shots with the band. The ONLY reason why I didn't rate a full 5 stars was because of our family photos. I was slouching in all of them. It was very cold outside and I have terrible posture anyway, but I wish I had been told to stand up straight. I also would have liked more photos with just me and my husband. All the more reason I'm glad we did the engagement session!Lisa is a top-notch professional. I would highly recommend her to anyone who is looking for a creative, journalistic photographer who doesn't pose their subjects like dorks (unless that's what you want.) Lisa knows how to capture the personalities of her subjects and the moods of her environments. And the music she chooses for the slideshows she compiles is spot on!

I initially found Lisa on craigslist but after long deliberations, meeting several other photographers and contacting the photographers on the preferred vendor list I am happy to have booked her for my wedding. She specializes in photojournalistic photography and captures the "moment" in her own artistic way.The Bottom-line:Price - Last summer, 2009, was Lisa's 1st full wedding season. She was relatively new when I found her; however, there was no denying the artistic quality of her photography when looking at her blog and website. With any wedding vendor it almost always comes down to price and quality. Lisa was well aware of this and all throughout the booking process she worked with me to develop a package that suited my needs and priced it pretty fairly i.e. with a discount. Even though demand for Lisa has seemingly sky rocketed and her prices now are slightly more than what I paid, she is worth every penny.Professionalism - Lisa always kept a professional demeanor with me from our initial meeting, to our "week of" meeting, the day of the wedding and all e-mail correspondence. Both my family and myself are very demanding but Lisa obliged every request we had for her on our wedding day. She obliged family members who asked her to take posed group shots. When I noticed that some of the pictures I wanted weren't in the final review she offered to do free retakes.Album - I ordered a Kiss Leather Wedding Book from her and two matching Kiss parent books http://www.kissweddingbooks.com/. She was always on top of dates and was mindful that I wanted to get these to our parents in time for the holidays. She helped with layout and offered some really great suggestions. I could not be happier with the story of our wedding that plays it in these books. Overall, I am truly happy to have found such a wonderful, artistic and easy to work with wedding photographer. Lisa never harassed me after our initial meeting to become her client and was always mindful of how stressful it can be planning a wedding. Before, during and after the wedding, she always answered phone calls and e-mails in a timely manner. The only thing I would have liked a couple shots of were some posed formal shots with our family which we didn't get too many of, Lisa's style of photography doesn't really cater to these type of shots but I'm sure she would have been more than happy to have taken them if I had mentioned it to her (our wedding day was hectic and I had a large wedding party). Also, we got married on the harbor and I would've liked some additional harbor shots.BTW - Lisa was one of the few vendors who got the most compliments from my guests for her work.

Lisa was recommended to us by a close friend and I am so grateful that she gave us the point in the right direction. When receiving our pictures, we couldn't have been more happy. Lisa captured the day with pictures that were just what we were looking for. We had our destination wedding and then a reception when we came back. The destination wedding photographer did a great job, but everything was so posed. Lisa did a great job capturing natural, intimate moments at our reception. We never even knew she was there half the time. She did a great job not only capturing us, but the majority of our guests. She was on time, professional, and a pleasure to work with. Planning a wedding can be a stressful task, but the photographer was never one of our worries. I trusted her from the moment I met her, and would highly recommend her to anyone.

We could not have done better than to hire Lisa to photograph our wedding. Not only is she very friendly and super easy to work with, but she takes beautiful photos! We knew we didnÂ’t want typical, traditional wedding photos, so when we looked at LisaÂ’s work, we loved it right away. It is natural, evocative and so clearly very different than other wedding photographerÂ’s work. Her photos of our wedding are warm, candid, and truly captured the emotions of the day. When we got the photos back (less than a week after the wedding!), we were impressed to see that she had captured so many intimate moments - we didnÂ’t even know she was there! Several people have told us that they are the nicest wedding photos they have ever seen! Logistically everything went very smoothly as well, she was flexible, responsive, and very quick to get our photos back to us and posted on her website. Our only regret is that we didnÂ’t hire her for longer period of time.

Pleased but also disappointed. What I liked about Lisa:- Gives tremendous attention to wedding details / decor- Has a creative eye for artistic angles and photo composition- Shows up early for every appointment- Responds to emails quickly- Offered good pricing while starting out in wedding photography- Always carries a backup camera- Provides large print and compressed web version of photos on a beautifully labeled disk- Was able to disguise the look of the horrible backup rain room we were forced to use by focusing on our hands, bridesmaids, etc.- Stepped in appropriately to take a bridal portrait of me in my 2nd wedding dress. Turned out to be a favorite.I was disappointed by:- Did not check in with me before leaving for the night (she left just before guests started dancing -- would have hired for the extra hour)- Did not photograph our first dance with any guests in the background. Looks like we were in a room by ourselves with no guests at our wedding. Maybe it was her intention to look like we were in our own world?? I was concerned about our small wedding size (65 people) so it would have been nice to make the room look occupied.- No creative shots of just fiance and I around the venue premises- Could provide more guidance on flattering poses and whether clothing looks out of place. Not a photographer who will fluff your dress or let you know if a shirt and posture makes you look larger than normal.Despite the disappointments, I am overall pleased with the photos I received and would recommend Lisa. She takes great pride in her work. She is still new to wedding photography but is definitely on the move up to great things.
