Katlem Design & Invitations

After spending a lot of time doing research, I narrowed in on some local invitations vendors who had extremely positive reviews. Kate, from Katlem Design & Invitations was the first vendor I met with, and after our initial meeting, I immediately cancelled all of my other appointments with potential vendors. I knew that she was the one, and my instincts were right, as I can't imagine a more positive experience or a more perfect (or gorgeous!) invitation than the one she designed for us. Kate was extremely professional yet also really warm and open and easy to talk to. She listened to what we wanted and made suggestions based upon what she heard. She gently nudged us away from some poor color choices by suggesting and then showing us some colors that might be more striking (she was right on every count), and she never tried to talk us into more expensive options because she was simply focused on what would look best AND be just what we were looking for. Unlike many designers, Kate was willing to work with a piece of artwork that we provided. And, working from that art, she created a cohesive design that had small elements from the original piece sprinkled throughout the whole package (reply cards, envelopes, etc.) to pull it all together. While we were lucky to have a family member who created an illustration for us, if that hadn't been the case, we probably would have still used Katlem Design because all of the original pieces that Kate showed us were lovely. And, for the work that she puts in and the quality of that work, the price is very reasonable. Literally everyone who received an invitation to our wedding made a point of telling us how beautiful/original/striking/awesome our invitations were. If I find myself needing invitations or announcements in the future, I will definitely call Kate.

Katlem Designs did an absolutely amazing job on our Save the Dates and Invitations! The owner, Kate Lemish, went above and beyond to make us the most beautiful invitations! She was very professional and paid close attention to our every detail and request; she made it a truly personalized experience. We will be having Katlem also make the programs and place cards for our wedding ceremony and reception. Our families and friends are still talking about how creative and stunning the invitations and save the dates were, they are something very special that we will have forever to remember our big day!

Loved the designs that Kate had for her invitations. We were looking for some ideas for designing our stationary for our wedding day. Kate was very flexible and was able to scan a photo in of the lighthouse we were having the ceremony at for our stationary and presented that to us as an option. We loved it and used it for our programs and table seating cards.

Kate was such big help providing us with invitations that absolutely blew people away. About one week after we sent the invitations out, we received a constant flow of complements about our invitations. Every person we talked to had something great to say about them; some guest’s even wrote comments on their response cards! I saw a picture of some of the invitations Kate had made in a RI Bridal magazine. As soon as I saw it, I knew I had to have it and make it work in our budget. It was perfect for the theme of our wedding! Kate did the invitations, the table cards, the seating cards, and the ceremony fan programs. From the get-go I loved Kate’s style, but the quality of service I received was a pleasant bonus. I contacted Kate maybe almost a year before my actual wedding, and from that time and to the end I received nothing less than professional, responsive, organized, creative, patient, and high quality service from her. We had an open dialogue that I could comfortably add a couple ideas, and wouldn’t have to say much for Kate to understand what I was thinking and do it, or do it even better than I was thinking. Also, not having been married before, there were some wording and organizational aspects of the design process that I had no idea what was standard or not. Kate knew though, and provided answers and examples for me. She also had the timeline of this process it took to make these pieces, down to a science. Timing was perfect and I knew she had it under control. My overall experience was entirely satisfied and so proud to show everyone the result. The invitations, seating cards, etc. were only a few details of our wedding, but did not go unnoticed by any of our guests, because it so truly portrayed who my husband and I are, and such a gorgeous and perfect way! The custom invitations and thank you cards were amazing! Throughout the whole process, Kate and Jen offered their expert eye for my less-than-expert way of describing my vision for the invitations. My wedding invitations were absolutely unique and beautiful and the quality was excellent! After they went out to my guests, I received several phone calls telling me how beautiful they were. Our wedding theme was centered around our venue, Fort Adams. Our invitations featured a drawing of the Newport Bridge and a sailboat. Our invitations were even better than I had imagined. They are totally unique and set the tone for our entire wedding. It was a pleasure working with Katlem.

Kate was fabulous and very efficient. The vendor even drove out of there way to meet me at a location close to our florist so that we could double up on appointments without having to drive all over. She even caught a mistake before the invitations went out and alerted me right away. She was easy and fun to work with, and many of our guests have commented on the beauty of her work. The invitations and programs really set the tone for our event. I would recommend her over and over again and will be back to her in the future.

Katlem Design was WONDERFUL to work with! They were creative, thoughtful and very, very helpful!
