Independence Harbor is a wonderful place for a wedding! We had our reception their on Oct. 22, and it was amazing!!!! Starting with Anne & Connie, I can't say enough about how wonderful they are! They were always willing to answer any questions I had..they were responsive via email and phone! Maddie was our coordinator and she was great. Deb (I hope that's her name) was great! She was very attentive with us, our meals, drinks, etc. I thought that it would be jammed since we had 210 people but it was very roomy. The fireplace was a nice touch and friends and family loved taking pictures in front of it. It was wonderful! I can't tell you how many compliments I received on the venue and the food. I had a lot of critics, since my family is italian and they are very particular with their food. Everyone was very pleased with their meals, which I was VERY HAPPY! It's horrible when you go to a wedding and the food stinks...well IH knows what they are doing! Everything was amazing!!!

Independence Harbor was, not only one of the most beautiful venues we looked at, but also the most affordable. The staff were extremely helpfull, professional and thoughtful. Our food was amazing and we had many options to choose from. Our day was seemless and so amazing, literaly nothing went wrong!! Thank you Independence Harbor for so many beautiful memories!!

Independence Harbor is amazing. You can not find a more beautiful place to hold a wedding ceremony and reception south of boston. The flower gardens are breath taking and the reception room is surrounded by windows so you can enjoy the view the entire reception. The food is delicous and everyone loved their meals. The staff is friendly and easy to work with. They did all the work and I showed up! They even talked to my vendors directly and answered any questions they had. It is completely handicapped accessible and very open. The ceremony and reception were better than I could imagine. I highly recommend all brides to consider this beautiful and affordable venue!

My husband and I were so happy to have chosen Independence Harbor for our wedding (ceremony & reception). We had an evening ceremony outside in the gazebo and the ambiance, with the sun setting amidst all of those beautiful flowers and trees, could not have been more inviting. The reception room is also very beautiful and spacious, having been renovated just a short time ago. The environment certainly enabled our guests to feel at ease and so many have told us how much fun they had. The coordinators at I.H. did a superb job in helping us to plan our event. Likewise, all of the staff who assisted us on our wedding day were very accommodating and always professional. The food was outstanding! Need we say more? They provided such a beautiful atmosphere for our January wedding. The fireplace was an amazing backdrop, and the white lights around the facility made it look very whimsical. The food was exceptional, and all of our guests complimented us on it and the service provided. Maddie is amazing to work with. Connnie can be a bit overbearing at the beginning, but they do an amazing job keeping everything flowing smoothly.

Independence Harbor was incredible from the the time we booked to the lights being turned on at the end of the reception. Connie was always available to answer any and all questions leading up to the big day. Maddie was our coordinator the day of and she was fantastic- she was attentive to our needs and made the day flow flawlessly. The room and garden were beautiful and the food was delicious! My only problem was my heels digging into the ground. I lost my balance several times while pictures were being taken and it made it very difficult to continue. But overall- IH was great and I would recommend it.

Matt and I had our wedding at Independent Harbor. The staffs were very helpful and polite. Food was great! I love the surrounding environment and the garden. I highly recommend this venue to any future bride.

Independence Harbor and their wonderful staff made our wedding day flawless. Even though it rained and we were unable to have our ceremony outside, it was perfect. Being near the fireplace was the perfect spot to have the ceremony. The food was excellent :) Everything was well organized and went off without any issues. The day flew by!

Most of the guests are still commenting on what a beautiful wedding and reception it was and some didn't know Independence Harbor existed and were going to keep it in mind for future events.Everything went off without a hitch, and the hostess was wonderful about getting things rolling, so we didn't waste time waiting for things to happen.

I cannot say enough good things about Independence Harbor. They were great from the very first day we toured the grounds until the end of my wedding. They helped me with so much and my day was truly great because of them. Oh and the food is excellent. I recommend going to Sunday brunch. You will not be disappointed.

An Oasis in Massachussetts. Connie Dunning and her group and the reception venue were out of this world. Exceeded our expectations.

Amazing!!! My husband and I have been talking about how smoothly everything went. The food was amazing, the room looked exactly as I had pictured it and the tiniest details were taken care of, down to the arrangement of the cranberry wreath centerpieces. Our coordinator, Matt, was awesome - easygoing, funny, and yet managed to keep everything running seamlessly on the day of the wedding. If there's a prettier or more reasonably priced venue in the greater Boston area, I haven't seen it.

I loved Independence Harbor. So clean and elegant. Employees were more than helpful, and very professional. My wedding was picture perfect!

I got married at Independence Harbor in Assonet on 3/16/07. My coordinators there (Matt and Maddie) were exceptional and I have nothing but good memories about my experience here. I got married in the worst snowstorm of the 2006-2007 season (basically the ONLY snowstorm we had that season!) and Matt and Maddie did a great job. I was completely calm the whole evening and I owe everything to them! The food came out hot and delicious. The guests were raving about the food! The ballroom was absolutely gorgeous and the fireplace was roaring. The chocolate fountain was a HUGE hit and the guest were raving about that as well. Other than starting a little late (because of the snow and the fact that I was late arriving) everything went off without a hitch. The best part of IH is that they are affordable. I had a gorgeous wedding for a fraction of the price I would have paid anywhere else in the Boston area. If you are considering IH you would not be disappointed with their quality of service.

Independence Harbor is an ideal place for a dream wedding! The 20 acre landscape is a stunning and meticulously cared for perennial and annual garden, with paths and gorgeous views of the beautiful Assonet River, where a white crane lives and practically poses for pictures! You couldn't ask for a more picturesque backdrop for your wedding photos! The Garden house/ reception hall is also beautiful and unique, with a stone fireplace, stained glass, lovely views of the gardens from every seat, and many more charming details! The people at I.H. were above and beyond! Although they set the stage for so many special events, they still manage to make everything special for you and treat you as sincerely as possible so that it truly is YOUR special day! It poured on our wedding day and they still found ways to help us get the right pictures in and escorted us with umbrellas when we needed them, and our pictures were still wonderful, thanks to their guidance. All of our guests had a fantastic time, and raved about the food (We suggest Buffet # 3!)! The visual details of the food display and the tastes were remarkable. A great value also, as they help with many aspects of planning and guiding as you make your plans. They use a very constructive reception questionnaire which really helps you visualize how you would like things to be. I would say the great management,personable service and setting are key to this venue. We highly recommend it!

Independence Harbor was absolutely beautiful, and the food was amazing. The staff was extremely helpful and worked well to make our wedding a night that we will never forget. The only con, was the strict rules that Independence Harbor had (reason for 4 stars) but in the end the strictness was not as bad as originally thought.

Independence Harbor did a fabulous job on our wedding (which was just a few weeks ago). They are wedding professionals and the staff are both organized and personable. They will do whatever they can to help make your day special. Our wedding was spectacular! From the ceremony to the reception, IH did an excellent job and everything was perfect. They are exceptional at what they do and I would highly recommend Independence Harbor for any bride planning her wedding. The grounds and gardens are beautiful. The outdoor flowers, stone wall and wagon make a great background for pictures and are amazing. Because they are busy making your day perfect, the only downside is that pictures cannot be taken prior to the wedding ceremony (which is completely understandable and for us, it was even better that way) and you are limited to the reception times given. These were pretty easy overcome given you really do not have to worry about anything on your special day. IH takes care of it all. Our wedding was better than I could have even imagined and our guests are still raving about it and how much everyone really enjoyed the day! It really does not get much better than that and we will always remember our special day that took place at IH!A special thank you to Connie, Anne, Matt and everyone at IH who made the day so wonderful!

Though in the beginning I was a little stressed out by some of the restrictions of the place but at the end of the day everything turn out perfect. I did not have to worry about anything, trusting that the staff knew exactly what they were doing. Matt was our coordinator for the day and though I knew he was under a lot of stress I did not get to see that on his face during my interaction with him which to me made a huge difference. You don’t want to see your coordinator stress or upset as a bride… He was able to meet with me to go over the details of the wedding and provided suggestions and feedbacks. Anne and Connie were very good in responding to my questions and concerns…. I like the reminder letters. I had a wonderful time on my wedding day and so did everyone else I talked to. The place is fabulous and the staffs are very competent on what they do. If you want to get married at Independence Harbor you won’t regret it but, as a bride you will need to be flexible on some of their restrictions which can be difficult at first. I used two of their referring vendors A formal Limousine and Arts International bakery in Raynham. They were great.

Lovely venue, great value for the money, polite and helpful staff; would not have chosen differently after, extremely pleased!
