If you aren’t really a fan of flowers and/or have no idea what type of centerpieces you’ll want for your wedding reception, Jay and Golden Gate are perfect for you! After seeing a stunning bouquet done by them at a Newport bridal shower, I knew I didn’t want anyone else handling my wedding floral décor. When my now-husband, Elex, and I met with Jay for the first time, I was very scatter-brained. I had lots of photos I’d found online and some sketches I’d thought up as well as a lot of what I didn’t want, but I couldn’t really define what I wanted for our wedding reception. Within 30 minutes, Jay was able to describe back to me exactly what was in my head. It was amazing! He was able to create a beautiful mix of non-floral and floral centerpieces that made my room sparkle and created an over-the-top look my husband and I will never forget. Our guests were incredibly impressed with our Manzanita tree centerpieces, which Jay topped off with individually placed white buds and hanging crystals – they were better than I ever could’ve imagined. While we did go with rented linens, chairs and plating and uplighting for our reception, I really feel it was those giant centerpieces that made the biggest impact when people walked in the room. I know I was nearly brought to tears. Jay was in constant contact with me before the day of – even emailing me while on his vacation to let me know he was happy my then-fiancé and I were happy with the mock of our centerpiece we had just been by to see – and the day of, bringing all the bouquets to me to see in the salon before bringing up to my room. I really don’t believe you’ll find anyone more enthusiastic or passionate about your centerpieces and floral arrangements than Jay and Golden Gate, and Elex and I highly recommend them!

Jay and his staff were a pleasure to work with. Every picture I saw in a magazine that I loved turned out to be work by Golden Gate so I knew I had to use them as my florist. They were very reasonably priced and my centerpieces were gorgeous as well as my bouquets. I couldnt believe how many compliments I got on the centerpieces!!

I have never seen more beautiful flowers! Jay was the first and last florist I met with. He executed my style and vision better than I could have ever dreamed of! The flowers for my bridal luncheon, cake, tables and the tent decor were beyond perfection

Golden Gate provided lighting for our reception. It really made the room glow and made the event feel more special. They were very reasonable and easy to work with.

I can not get over how BEAUTIFUL all my flowers came out. AMAZING! SOOO worth the money. They were helpful and flexible. Everyone complimented the flowers alll night! \r\nBeautiful job!

AMAZING - I loved every single interaction/conversation I had with Jay and the Golden Gate Studio Folks. My flowers were everything I imagined and I would say even better! Jay was great at figuring out exactly what I would like when I really wasn't positive about how to express it. He made me totally comfortable talking about budget and made it easy to work beautiful flowers and incredible up-lighting into my budget. I am so thankful for everything they did. I would also have to say get the up-lighting!!!! It was worth every penny, made the space so spectacular!!!!

We used Golden Gate for our flowers and uplighting. Jay was so easy to work with throughout the entire process. Our flowers came out beautifully, especially my bouquet, which I absolutely adored. We had a minor miscommunication, which was probably my fault since I know nothing about flowers. About two days before my wedding I went into the shop to pick up a gravesite arrangement, and I noticed that my BMs' flowers were in the refrigerator. I thought we had discussed making them green and white rather than all green. They were also a little less full than I thought they'd be. I left thinking that maybe they weren't finished? But just in case, I called Jay. He didn't know the answer off hand but had Melissa immediately call me back. She told me that they were done, but they could redo them if necessary. I said that I'd like them redone to include some white if possible. Melissa didn't sound too happy with me, BUT the point of this story is that they fixed them and they were GORGEOUS on the day of the wedding. Bottom line: I highly recommend Golden Gate! Just be sure that you communicate and know what you want vs. what they intend to provide.

I was so happy with Golden Gate Studios in the beginning. They are friendly, professional, and so helpful with offering advice. They are also really flexible as you get closer to the date. The flowers are fresh, etc. However I had a contract with how exactly my bouquet was going to look and when I got it, it wasn't the right flowers and there was greenery in it when I said I did not want it. He cut it out for me and the pictures were still beautiful but I had it clearly written in the contract. The bridesmaids flowers were supposed to be a certain color and they were a little off too.

LOVED! So patient with us as we added and added to our order over the course of time. All of our arraingements and my bouquet were more beautiful than I ever imagined they could be.

Jay and the entire Golden Gate staff were amazing! My flowers were exactly like I had pictured. Jay was so great and easy to work with and made sure we were completely happy and comfortable with our decisions. Golden Gate Studios had previously done two of my friends weddings and they did not let us down. I would highly recommend GGS to everyone!!

I used Golden Gate for my flowers and for the uplighting on a budget of $2000K for all. I was very pleased for the most part...the bouquets were beautiful exactly what I wanted with high quality hydrangeas. We order special tool and lighting on the stair cases and this also turned out beautiful, and the centerpieces were exactly what I wanted. The uplighting was also wonderful the colors made the room that much more majestic. The only minor complaint that I had was the floral spray on the arbor outside was never brought inside and was not as large as I thought it would be and the floral arrangement on the reception card table was not what I thought we had discussed but as I had not been specific on this part that is mainly my fault. Other then that Jay was a pleasure to work with and I would highly recommend as his flowers are beautiful and the cost is much more reasonable then any of the other florists.

We checked out several florists before deciding on Golden Gate-- and we're glad we did. Jay and his team are very professional, courteous and responsive. I had a good idea of the type of flowers I wanted and decorations for the aisle-- and Jay made my ideas become reality. My husband is originally from the South, so Jay was able to reflect his roots in my bouquet-- by using raw cotton. Fantastic! I was very happy with Jay! I would highly recommend Golden Gate to any bride.

Worst experience ever! They were the nicest people and even when i went to get a sample done for my wedding they did exactly what i wanted. It was beautiful! I was so happy I wouldnt have to worry about my flowers, I thought they had everything taken care of.. The morning of my wedding, My flowers came and my boquet was sprayed and falling apart. before i even got to the church i mustve lost about 5 flowers (it was made out of carnations) I didnt panic yet.. then we get to the reception and I wanted to cry.. My centerpieces looked nothing like the sample.. they were all sprayed and had a bunch of leaves all over the places. I wanted a ball of hotpink carnations, how hard is that!!! inside we were suppose to have cala lillys but instead they threw in whatever flowers they had. They also glued the flowers to the vase. it looked awful.. There was suppose to be a big flower arrangement when you walk in to cocktail hour, it looked like they picked flowers from a farm and threw them in a vase. My seating cards were suppose to all be arranged on a bed of hot pink carnations for 150 people. Instead the bed fit maybe 20 cards and wasnt the right color. I was so upset, I trusted them with my wedding. They ruined everything!! When melissa came to pick up the vases she was rude, when I asked her why everything was different, she said "oh im sorry I dont know" this is your job to do what your clients are paying for! I called jay because i wanted some money back. He didnt want to come out to see us when I went to the office. He talked about how everything went wrong and the color of the carnations was ordered hot pink and came in coral. Honestly I dont care what happened. I wouldve been happy if they let me klnow the situation a few days before the wedding and I wouldnt be suprised! Think twice before you want to spend thousands of dollars at this florist!!!

I am very disappointed with this vendor. The original person I was dealing with left the company, even though I was reassured that everything would go as planned, this vendor failed to contact me to tell me they did not have the linen I requested, instead they changed it without calling me, and made a comment that brides are "entitled." I was not aware of this until two weeks prior to my wedding. The colors they provided were dramatically different than my theme. I had to go with another vendor two weeks prior to try and fix the issues. I provided the vases and they were supposed to provide mini bouquets in all the vases, instead they threw two roses in each vase. This is not what we agreed to. My theme was candlelight, they agree to light the 200+ votives for the reception, 100 of the votives were returned to me, unlit, as they ran out of time during set up. They were supposed to light the candles on the memorial table in the chapel, and during the wedding ceremony I realized that they did not. And lastly, they told me that they would be at wedding site to set up at 12pm. They did not get there until 4:30pm. This meant my wedding planner could not review anything in regards to set up as my wedding was at 5:30pm.

Great florist! Jay and staff worked within our budget to create a beautiful arrangement of flowers for our special day. He does tell you upfront that towards the end of the week he is really busy so to contact him earlier for follow up. A little tough in the beginning but worked out great. I really like how they go to the house of the bride and the church to make sure everyone gets their flower. Nothing went to waste!

Jay was great. I told him my budget & he took notes upon our first meeting for the flowers I needed. A few weeks later I received a formal list of the flowers & cost broken down into categories. I told him the flowers that I liked & he did a great job putting it together. He made a complimentary sample centerpiece for me to take & he did a great job with that. My order also included a tossing boquet, which is great because no one really wants to part with their flowers. he was really good about answering calls & returning messages.

Jay and his team at Golden Gate were a dream to work with! They got us everything we want at a fantastic deal! My husband's relative is a florist out of state and even thought our flowers looked fake they were so perfect! He couldn't believe how beautiful they were! They were very easy to get along with and the end result was absolutely amazing!

Our flowers turned out beautifully. I made changes in my flower colors after our initial meeting and they were very flexible to change them and helped me picking out specific flowers. The flowers lasted over a week after the wedding. I'd recommend!

Jay and Melissa were amazing! I was so happy with everything, the bouquets were beautiful, the uplighting was a crowning touch, and they were right on time the day of :)\r\n\r\nThe only thing I would mention is that they forgot my tossing bouquet, my bouquet did not have a certain flower I requested, nor did my groom\'s boutineer, and the low centerpieces were different than what I was shown at the mock up 2 months before the big day. \r\n\r\nBUT, they were still great, very flexible with our tight budget, and prompt. I definatly reccomend them!
