Dave Hodges with 5 Star Events is fantastic at his job! He inspired confidence from the begining, which meant that I was able to leave the music in his hands and only worry about the other millions of details. I totally trusted him, and was right to because everything worked out perfectly! Dave was so easy to work with. We did most of our wedding planning from abroad, but it was never a problem contacting him by email and he was always very quick to respond. So by the time we met in person I was totally at ease. We had more of a feel for how we wanted the music to be than an actual playlist and Dave was able to still give us exactly what we wanted. I loved every song that was played and it gave our ceremony and reception exactly the mood we were hoping for. Dave was very professional, friendly, and and it was such a relief when he arrived early to set up, so that I could head off to the church knowing that everything would be ready when the guests arrived. Even with a mixed crowed of old, young, Americans and Brazilians, he was able to get everyone up dancing and having a good time. Perfect DJ! I would very highly recommend Dave to anyone planning a wedding or a party. One of our guest asked him to DJ their party the week after the wedding!

Greg Hodges with 5 Star Events is an amazing DJ. Our experience with him from the beginning was wonderful. From our first phone conversation, first meeting, follow up conversations, to his performance at the wedding, Greg was hands down a class act all the way. His goal is to play music that the couple and the crowd want to hear and dance to. And he delivered beyond our expectations. He has an incredible online planning/music program that makes the process a breeze and even enjoyable. He worked with our ceremony musician to place state of the art speakers in the proper places, and the songs he played were always the right choice. He really listens to the clients needs and is extremely professional, organized, and talented. He makes the music the center of attention, rather than himself. I can't say enough about Greg. We absolutely loved our DJ Dave! The music was perfect for the different sections of the day (ie Lunch vs Party). We even wanted him to stay and enjoy the day with us! Highly recommended!!

I am the Mother of the Bride. Three years ago my son was married and Greg was the DJ at their wedding in Boston. I was immediately impressed by his style. Greg is very friendly and personable. He immediately engaged the guests with a variety of music, which resulted in a full dance floor throught the night. So many people commented on the "DJ". When my daughter announced her engagement our family did not consider anyone else except Greg. Her wedding took place August 13th and we could not have been more pleased. The dance floor was never empty. Like my son and daughter-in-law's wedding, so many guest told us what a great time they had at the wedding. Greg was always a gentleman and kept the atmosphere alive.Thank you Greg for a fantastic wedding!You are 2 for 2 with our family!

After meeting with Dave Hodges we knew he was the DJ we wanted for our wedding. From the start, he helped us organize the flow of the reception by giving us a guide to work off of as well as an online planning tool. The planning tool is great because it is full of every song you could think of and even has different lists of song suggestions just in case there are songs you know you would like played, but forgot to put on your list. I really liked the fact that Dave was professional and easy to work with as well as available to answer any questions I had. Our reception was absolutely perfect and Dave really worked with the mood of the crowd and kept us dancing all night! We all had an amazing night and we are so happy we chose Dave to share it with us as our DJ. Thank you so much, Dave!

Greg from 5 star did such a great job at our wedding. You can tell he loves what he does and had our dance floor packed all night. He was very professional and managed our play lists very well. He got a great read on the crowd and kept people going all night by stacking dance song after dance song based on the crowd. He doesn't play any silly games or fill up the night talking all night - he made appropriate announcements and worked with the venue to time things perfectly. Greg was also incredibly responsive to my questions through the planning process.

Wedding date: May 14, 2010 at Indian Pond Country Club Kingston MAI am the Mother of the Bride and we were thoroughly pleased with Greg Hodges! This man delivered everything he said he would and more! Through the process he maintained a high level of integrity and commitment to our daughter's wedding. AND he responded to emails quite promptly with answers and suggestions when we needed them. AT the reception he kept a handle on the flavor and dynamics of the guests and his song selections for the "PARTY" even enticed 80 year old ladies to get out there and shake their booties! as they danced with all the younger generation! Greg was successful in "closing the gap" as far as THAT was concerned! Greg was always a gentleman and demonstrated the utmost respect to the bridal party and guests. He was professional at all times and demonstrated immense talent in technical aspects, visual/auditory ambiance, and attention to the essence of the celebration. We received the highest quality at a very reasonable cost.We are confident that we chose the perfect DJ for this wedding. People are still talking about it! We used Greg for our wedding on February 13th at the Red Lion Inn in Cohasset. Our original DJ cancelled on us a month before the wedding due to health issues. Luckily for us, he recommended Greg to us. We met with Greg shortly thereafter and he was kind enough to accept the terms of the contract with our original DJ. Greg was very accomodating with music requests, even setting up a webpage for our guests to make requests on. We had certain guidelines on songs that we wanted played and songs that we didn't want played, and Greg covered them all. He did a fantastic job at the wedding, once dinner was over people were on the dancefloor the entire time. I've had numerous people comment to myself and my wife that it was the most fun they've had at weddings and that the DJ did an excellent job. I would highly recommend Greg again and have done just that to another friend who is getting married this summer. 5 stars easily, I'd rate higher if it was possible. Thanks again!

Greg was outstanding! My husband and I wanted a DJ that left the dancing to us, and the music playing to him-- and that's exactly what we got. We didn't want a DJ that stole the show- played games, or talked on the mic.....in our opinion, the "dancing" portion of the wedding is for just that..."dancing!" He truly was fantastic. I never had to worry about what song was going to play next-- or if the dance floor would stay packed. Greg handled everything! When you work with vendors, you want to be sure that you have absolute trust in them- and we did in Greg. He had never worked at the location where our wedding was (The Union Club of Boston), so to be sure he knew where he was going, how he would set up, a few weeks before the wedding, on his own, he took a walk through so that the day ran smoothly on his end and our end.I cannot say enough about him and 5 Star events-- we even hired him to do out lighting for the dance floor. With an old, historic Boston building, he was able to keep the elegant setting of the Beacon Hill location, with proper lighting that stepped up the room so that our quests knew that there is where the party was going to get to the next level.I HIGHLY recommend Greg.Thanks!Kate and Chris Moriarty- Jan. 30th 2010 Wedding

Greg was the DJ at our wedding a few weeks ago and we couldn't speak more highly of him! We met with him about a month prior and could tell he was really interested in creating the atmosphere we were looking for, which was fairly laid back in terms of first dances, cake cutting, etc. but then having great dance music as the evening went on. He had many really helpful suggestions regarding ceremony music as well as order of events throughout the night. Greg is very friendly and personable as well as professional. DJ Dave Hodges was phenomenal! Greg was unavailable for our date so he set us up with Dave and he did a fantastic job, we couldn't have been happier! He made sure every detail was covered and that we were getting all the music we wanted and none of the music we didn't. The online planning forms were very convenient and easy to use. We also did a dvd slideshow and it was a big hit. Dave fit the music selection to the crowd and everyone had a great time. I would recommend him to anyone that asked!!! Thanks for a great time

From the moment that we first met Greg we knew that he was the man for the job; he was absolutely great to work with! We booked both a DJ and Band; after sitting down with Greg, he assured us that he would contact the band and coordinate all of the details with them, which took some of the stress off of us. Once we gave him an idea of what music we liked, he was able to take care of the rest. Aside from being a great DJ, Greg is also a great guy; we're so happy that we chose him to DJ our special day.

The DJ was awesome. We gave him a list of songs not to play and someone asked for it and he had to turn them down per orders of the bride and groom. He did everything we had hoped and them some. It was amazing.

Greg Hodges, at 5 Star Events, is the most talented DJ I have ever come across. My husband and I literally picked our wedding date based upon the availability of 3 components: the venue, the church, and most importantly....DJ GREG HODGES. Greg was the DJ at my sister's wedding, and he did such a fabulous job that we had to have him DJ our wedding. He exceeded all expectations we had for a perfect night of music. He allowed us to work with him and voice our preferences of music styles throughout the night. He also provided the music for our cocktail hour which was a hit- a total mix of laid back favorites every generation can appreciate. He knew when to play oldies but goodies, when to play slow songs, and when to turn it up a notch and play more recent hits...the entire night was orchestrated perfectly. I saw people dance all night long that hate to dance...he was that good!! Greg is also very professional, patient, and a joy to be around. He is by far the most talented DJ I have ever met and I highly recommend him to anyone who wants a fun wedding filled with happy guests and tons of dancing.
